Pacifico Beach is located on Siargao’s east side and is the place that people go to when they want to escape the crowded beaches in General Luna. It’s close enough for a quick trip but far enough to keep things peaceful and uncrowded.
We visited Pacifico Beach twice during our adventures in Siargao and in this guide, we’ll share everything you need to know about Pacifico Beach including how to get there and what to expect when you arrive.

Pacifico Beach Complete Guide
Pacifico Beach is a beach up on Siargao’s eastern shore. The beach is long and sandy, making it easy to find a quiet spot to relax. The water immediately fronting the beach’s shoreline is full of white sand, but it turns to rocks as you venture further out into the ocean.

The beach bar at Pacifico serves refreshments and has chairs, umbrellas, and towels for rent. You can literally show up empty-handed and still find everything you need for a relaxing afternoon. We enjoyed drinking coconuts at the bar during the afternoons we spent at Pacifico.
When you arrive at Pacifico, you’ll be greeted by the local surfers offering lessons for 500 pesos per hour. Hardly any surfing skill is required, you just need to be able to stand up on the board. The guide will give you a gentle push to catch the wave. We gave it a try for an hour and had a blast.

If you’re hungry, we recommend getting a meal at Common Ground Cafe across the street. We had brunch there one day before going to Pacifico and it was an awesome way to fuel up for our beach day ahead.

How to get to Pacifico Beach
Pacifico Beach is about 1 hour away from General Luna, located next to the Siargao Circumferential Road on the island’s east side. It’s a great stop if you’re heading toward Siargao’s north shore, as it sits along the route to other popular spots like Pasikon Beach and the Marvelous Somyot Cave.

Pacifico Beach: Our Experience
We visited Pacifico Beach twice while in Siargao. One morning, we decided to head up there with a few of our hostel mates for a chill day on the beach’s white sandy shores.
Once we arrived and went through the gates of Pacifico, we paid our entry fee and rented an umbrella so we could chill in the shade on the beach. Having some shade was critical if we were planning to stay all day. The tropical sun is no joke.

After a while, we decided to try our hand at surfing. We approached one of the surf instructors at the entrance for a lesson. Before long, we were getting a quick crash course on the basics. Standing up on the board, finding our balance, positioning our feet. It was a lot of things to practice in such a short time. But the best way to learn is to just head out into the ocean and try to catch some waves. And that’s just what we did!

We paddled out into the ocean with our instructors guiding us into the surf break. Luckily for us, the waves were small, which made it perfect for beginners. I’ve heard Pacifico’s waves can get pretty intense, so if you’re new to surfing, use your caution if you decide to paddle out here.
Once we reached the surf break, our instructors positioned us and gave us a little push with each incoming wave. I managed to catch over 10 waves and I was pumped! It was the perfect introduction to surfing and I was ready to try tackling bigger waves next time.

As the afternoon ended and the sun began to set, the waves grew larger. That’s when our instructors swapped roles, heading out to show off their skills. Watching them shred those waves capped off our experience at Pacifico, and I even managed to snap a few photos of their rides from the shoreline.

Where to Stay in Siargao
Choosing where to stay in Siargao is pretty straightforward. General Luna is the island’s main tourism hub. Most of the accommodations, restaurants, and shops are located in General Luna, and it’s also where all the tours and activities depart from. If you want to be close to everything, General Luna is the place to be.
Here are our recommendations on where to stay in Siargao:
- Luxury: If you’re looking for the best place to stay in Siargao, Las Palmas Villas is hard to beat. It has everything you would expect from a resort, including a swimming pool, a garden, and a full-service restaurant and bar.
- Mid-range: Big Waves Boutique Hotel is located right in the heart of General Luna, in a local neighborhood. The rooms are clean and all have their own private bathrooms and AC.
- Budget: We enjoyed our stay at Hostel Bajala so much that we ended up extending it a few times. The place is clean, cozy, and comfortable. We couldn’t ask for more.

What to Pack for Siargao
Here are some of our must-have items you might not have thought of when packing for a trip to Siargao.
- Crocs: During our time in Siargao, I was so glad to have Crocs to protect my feet when exploring caves and islands. They are the ultimate shoe in the Philippines for a reason – many Filipinos wear them too!
- Earplugs: If you’re planning to do any island hopping while in Siargao, I recommend bringing a set of earplugs for the boat rides. Most boats in Siargao have super loud diesel engines that will make your ears ring!
- Sunscreen: For some reason, sunscreen is expensive in the Philippines and I’ve even encountered places selling fake sunscreen that doesn’t work! So I recommend bringing your own sunscreen to Siargao.
- Dry Bag: With all the sand, salt, and water flying everywhere during our adventures out to Siargao’s islands, I was so glad to have a dry bag to keep all my things safe from the elements!
- Travel Towel: In my opinion, a travel towel like this one is super necessary for a trip to Siargao! It packs down nicely and was there for me anytime I went swimming, or just needed to brush sand or dirt off.
